Water Sort Puzzle is a free color sorting game you can play online in any browser. Sort colored liquids into separate tubes: tap a tube, tap another and pour, but you can only pour onto the same colour or into an empty tube. Travel 100 increasingly difficult levels in 10 glowing worlds, from 2 to 12 colours with hidden mystery layers, with unlimited undo and restart, hints, an extra tube, 300 stars, 25 badges and a Daily puzzle with a leaderboard.
How to play Water Sort Puzzle
- Tap a tube to pick it up.
- Tap another tube to pour the top colour into it.
- Pour only onto the same colour or into an empty tube; a tube holds four layers.
- Keep sorting until every tube holds a single colour.
- Use Undo, Restart, a Hint or one extra tube when you are stuck.
- Solve levels within the move target for three stars.
With a keyboard, choose a tube with the arrow keys or the number keys 1–9 and 0, press Space or Enter to pick it up and again on another tube to pour. Z undoes, R restarts, H shows a hint, T adds an extra tube and P pauses. With a mouse, a right-click undoes.

Stars, undo and help
Every level shows a move target: the shortest solution our solver found plus a few spare moves. Solve a level for ★, without hints or an extra tube for ★★, and also within the target for ★★★. Undo is unlimited and takes a move back, and Restart sets the tubes back to the start. A 💡 hint runs a solver from your position and shows the next pour, and you can add one extra empty tube per puzzle.

Every level has two empty tubes to start with, and each world gets harder from its first level to its last.
The Daily puzzle and leaderboard
The Daily puzzle is a 9-colour puzzle that is the same for everyone that day. Its free leaderboard ranks the fastest times for today, this week and all time (each hint adds 30 seconds and an extra tube 60 seconds); you only choose a nickname if you want to join. After a solve you can challenge a friend with a link to the same tubes.
Badges
There are 25 badges for completing worlds, stars, perfect levels, pours, filled tubes, mystery levels, solving without help, speed, Daily puzzles and beating a friend. Open the medal button in the game to see your progress.

Water Sort Puzzle tips
- Keep an empty tube free. Empty tubes are your working space; do not fill them with mixed colours.
- Finish nearly sorted tubes. A tube with three layers of one colour needs only one more pour.
- Uncover buried colours. Look for the colour that blocks the most others and move it first.
- Pour whole runs. Pouring a stack of the same colour at once saves moves for three stars.
- Think a few pours ahead. Before you fill a tube, check that its top colour can still go somewhere.
- Undo freely. Undo is unlimited and only the moves you keep count.

How do I play Water Sort Puzzle?

Which pours are allowed?
You can pour onto the same colour or into an empty tube, as long as there is room. A tube holds four layers. All the layers of the top colour pour together, as many as fit.
What if I get stuck?
Use Undo to take back moves (as many as you like), Restart to start the level again, a Hint (the game solves the puzzle from where you are and shows the next pour), or add one extra empty tube per puzzle. If a position cannot be solved any more, the hint says so.
Can every level be solved?
Yes. Every one of the 100 levels and every Daily puzzle was solved by a computer search when it was made. A careless pour can still get you stuck, which is what Undo and Restart are for.
How do I get three stars?
Solving a level earns one star. Solve it without hints or an extra tube for two stars. For three stars, also solve it within the move target shown next to your moves; the target is the shortest solution our solver found plus a few spare moves. Undo takes a move back.
What are the hidden layers?
From level 61 on, every layer except the top one starts hidden as a grey question mark. A layer shows its colour once it reaches the top of its tube, so you have to plan with less information.

The journey has 100 levels in 10 worlds, from a gentle start with 2 colours to 12 colours in 14 tubes. On top of that there is a new Daily puzzle every day.
